Sarita wind farm gets $114 million

WASHINGTON (AP) — A South Texas wind farm will get more than $114 million in federal money in support of clean energy projects.The funding was announced Tuesday in Washington by Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Energy Secretary Steven Chu.
Overall, $502 million will be doled out in the first round of awards from an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The only Texas project to receive funding, in the initial phase of the program, is the Penascal Wind Farm south of Sarita.
